Disabled Sailors
Whilst we try an accommodate people with all kinds of disabilities we require you to come for an assessment so that we can assess your needs. As, unfortunately, our boats are not suited to everybody.
If we can accommodate your needs then we will allow you 2 taster sessions before are you required to join as a member. The annual membership for 2024 is £50.00.
How to apply:
Before you come for an assessment with us you should complete both an application form and medical form and send to our secretary either by email (if you can scan in the completed form), by Post, or bring along to your visit (if agreed). Here are the links to the downloadable PDF forms:
Please do NOT submit payment until your application has been approved by the CLADS Committee

As the gate to the lake is normally locked then we recommend you arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 as you are most likely to meet other club members coming and going. Once you have joined CLADS then you can obtain a key for a deposit of £50.00 from Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club. Your deposit will be refunded when you return your key.
Sailing with us:
When coming to sail with us you should always bring a spare change of clothes. Whilst our boats are extremely stable you can still get quite wet from spray over the side of the boat.
We do have some waterproof over clothes that you can use to help keep you dry. We also have buoyancy aides that you can use.
Everyone going on the water, or near the waters edge must where a buoyancy aide.
